Tiera_Starr Postad 7 Januari , 2007 Rapport Postad 7 Januari , 2007 I was speaking with a Swede on Prima who said that he played there and not on Full Tilt because he didn't want to pay any taxes on his winnings. I would like to ask what the tax implications are for a Swedish citizen winning money on Full Tilt Poker, and how they differ from the tax implications for winning money using a Prima skin. Edit: Thank you Colderose for your informative response. Citera

Colderose Postad 7 Januari , 2007 Rapport Postad 7 Januari , 2007 I believe Full Tilt is a taxfree site för swedish players. Full Tilt is to my understanding not based within the European Union and therefore subject to capital gains taxation for Swedish players. The rate at present is 30 percent on all gross winnings. ffredd Postad 22 Januari , 2007 Rapport Postad 22 Januari , 2007 No one really knows if we're supposed to pay taxes for our winnings at Full Tilt. Apparently the company behind Full Tilt (one of the companies anyway) is located on Aruba. Aruba is for some purposes considered a part of the Netherlands, and the Netherlands is a member of the EU. The law says we should pay 30% of every pot larger than 100 SEK (about 14 USD) that we win, if the company that owns the site isn't based in Norway, Iceland, Lichtenstein or a country that's a member of the EU. So if a Swedish person playing at Pokerstars for example, goes all-in for $990 when there's $10 in the pot and everyone else folds, he's supposed to pay $300 in taxes. (No, I'm not kidding, I'm not wrong, and I didn't type some extra zeroes by mistake). For the moment, the Swedish tax agency isn't really enforcing this law. Citera
