Very few people can double up, triple up, and quadruple up like Johnny Lodden can.
Earlier he made a comeback from a crippling 1,500, eventually to 8,000.
With around 3,300 in the pot and a flop of 743, one player bets 3,250, Lodden calls, and the player next to him in seat 2 raises it up. With the other player folding, it's down to a surprisingly tanned and well-rested looking Lodden to make his move.
He thinks for a few moments and then declares, "All-in!"
His opponent asks, "How much?" The dealer announces, "4,625 more."
Seat 2 calls and Lodden shows 54 for middle pair and an inside straight draw. To his utter despair, his opponent flips over pocket aces. The turn falls the K and things look desperate for Lodden.
However, knowing his luck, the river is the 6 and Lodden makes his straight.
He now sits on the best part of 20,000 chips.
