Bryan skickade mig hela storyn och sen har jag hjälpt till lite där jag själv medverkat. Kan vara för mkt text för någon som inte orkar läsa men jag tror den är intressant och mer info ni någonsin fått om robert och hur han går tillväga. Kan summera den inom någon dag om ALLA absolut inte orkar läsa men det får vara såhär nu. Om det är jobbigt/svårt att läsa på engelska kan jag oxå översätta så det blir på svenska.

hey guys, everyone was interested in my story of what happened with me and how I got scammed/my money stolen. After reading my own story again and again I realize 99.9% of this was my fault, I was just REALLY naive, stupid, and kept putting my faith in an individual for really no reason whatsoever.

 

I haven't received even $0.01 of the money thus far (it's been like 3 weeks) and he hasn't shown any real intentions, just kinda postpones it to talk about it later.

 

Stars did end up giving him his EPT Package, which is a shame IMO cause I dont see how they would still give that to him, but whatever, it's VERY VERY long, so read at your own risk... and dont ever trust anybody in the gambling community unless you know they conduct themselves in a professional manner, have a good tract record, references, and you trust them by your own gut instinct. I had no references, gf and friends had bad gut instincts, and he was degen even though I knew his family had money and I kept justifying it like that, it was just retarded.

precursor: I will be giving this series of events as I would give a statement at a police station, I will be trying to tell the events as they occured; as simply and factual as possible without even my own biases. I will also describe my emotional transitions throughout this entire process, but until this is confirmed 100% as what it is, I will be using words like LOAN and not SCAM / STOLEN, but will let you all draw your own conclusions.

 

 

 

 

 

Part I: The Internet

So... about 3-4 months ago I was playing the $160 4-man sattellites to the FTOPS HU event (4-man shootout) and reached the final 2 with the same player in back to back tournaments ( rbrt123 ). I had already won my seat and was just looking for some T$ and he seemed decent, so I offered a chop. He was unfamiliar w/it and took down my MSN (he gave a fake one at the time), but when we talked he wasn't comofrtable with chopping and said 'how could he trust me to send'.

 

 

 

This was the last I dealt with the player, until randomly a few weeks later he messaged me on MSN and just began talking. All of the conversation was friendly and totally normal and went on for a week or two, until suddenly one day I got an IM saying he couldnt deposit until monday due to limits, and he wanted $X for some tourneys and he would 100% deposit and pay it back on Monday when his deposit restriction cleared. I said no at first but he began to make promises and was beggining esentially, and I knew he had money before to be playing those 4man satts obv, and just "Meh, if somebody wants to scam me out of $100 or $150 then they are a terrible person and I hope life !@+$(!s them later"

 

 

 

I didnt check on the results of the tournaments, and didnt hear from the player again until about Wednesday, when he said something had happened, or maybe he had deposited and lost it or something, but he would be able to get more in on Friday, and I would be paid then, for sure. I said np,and went on with things, but then that Thursday or Friday came another request, saying "ohhh there are these 4 awsome tourneys that I HAVE to play" [totalling about $360ish I think]. I said absolutely not and he offered to send me the money on all these euro sites he plays on (24h, b2b, redbet, noIQ, etc.) I am american and said I couldnt make an account there, and couldnt cash it out even if I could, had no interest in that $$$, etc, etc. but he told me to just make an account there and take the money, and he would trade me back for it on Friday when he can deposit. I figured ughhh, if he's willing to trade the $ on these sites than whatever, he's not trying to scam me but it's still retarded, and finally I gave in and sent... without making a euro-site account... and did not receive on Friday.

 

 

 

Then, came a legitimate trade, he had $$$ on FTP (which I had no desire to have, I play almost entirely on Stars) and he wanted some on stars, he had said his account had got blocked for some reason and was playing on a friends account, but his friend was going to depo for him on stars and get me the money, I did the trade, but only if he sent first, and didnt recover anything from this, just got $$$ I didnt want on FTP for $$$ I wanted on stars lol. This happened maybe one more time (reading back I don't know why I would EVER send another dollar, EVER), and still, the debt just piled up, I got nothing paid back.

 

 

 

Now this person alwayss talked about having alot of money, and I watched him take down 2 tourneys within an hour of each other on a different network (noIQ and 24h I think) for $10k and $13k (1st and 2nd) so I had no clue why I was getting stiffed on stars. So he apologized and apologized a ton for not being able to get money onto stars and kept offering me money on these euro sites, which I said simply I had no need for. So then he said he would do a bank transfer for 3k euro ($4500) and I would get my money from this (he owed me $1080 and said I would get $1500 since it had been so long and he felt bad), and I would send him the rest on stars. I was VERY hesitant to do this and my parents said I shouldnt give out my bank information, and the bank also said only if I trust him, which obviously I was wary... so I said no for a few days, but then could find no other solution to get my money as nothing was developing on stars and I didn't have that much money in my checking account at the time (my life roll was about $10k when all of this was going on and I was still in the USA).

 

 

 

His bank said it should take like 5 business days or something, and I talked to my bank as well and they said basically the same thing. He did it through his internet bank, and showed me the transfer, receipt, transfer #, etc. all to reassure me. So this was fine but then, obviously came a day a few days later, where he NEEDED to play some tournaments. I said absolutely not and made the point that he basically had >10% of my life roll, which is just ridiculous, but then he kinda freaked out, said I was being a 'jerk', he sent a bank transfer and if I didnt trust him why should he ever pay such a 'jerk' if I cant even trust him, blah blah blah, and since I didnt want to lose the $1500 he owed me so eventually (like an idiot) I gave in and sent him ~$500 or something that was supposed to come out of the $ in the bank transfer (I had him show me a new SS of the bank transfer still being there before I did this), and I was basically paying him in hopes to receive the $$$ that he owed me before... and this right here was my fatal flaw, and where my real downfall began...

 

 

 

[ As a side note here, I dont think I expressed it very well, but outside of this aspect of our relationship we were really good friends here, it's not like this was the only time I dealt with him or anything ]

 

 

 

So then we didn't really deal with the money anymore for a while (it was about 1 week til it was supposed to be there, and I was moving to France with my gf in about a week). During this time I had my biggest month ever at the time, +12.3k in September, but had to cashout quite a bit due to the upcoming move (plane tickets, apartment rent, moving, money for buying my dog (cost $3500, fine at the time, seems crazy now lol), money for a new TV and some furniture, etc.) and this kept my life-roll at about 10-14k at the time I moved to France, even with having had such a great month in August. So my stars account started that upcoming month (September) with $12,800 in it, on the dot.

 

 

 

So I got to France, moved down to Montpellier and had very little contact with robert except to know that the bank transfer hadnt come through and we didn't know why. He showed me an updated screenshot of it and said he had no idea why it didn't go through. During this time I didnt talk to him much, and honestly can't remember if I transferred him anything significant or not, I think overall his debt he was supposed to pay me at the time (including $1080 now being $1500) lay somewhere around $2500. I finally moved into our apartment on the 23rd, and got internet setup on the 25th (I had come to France the 11th and done the bank transfer while I was still in the USA, so we were sure it wasn't coming). I was getting really frusterated with him and sick of waiting, and he said he really didn't know why it didn't work, so he said he would come visit in France and bring 4k euro cash, some to pay me, and the rest to trade on stars.

 

 

 

His plan was to get to the stockholm airport, and buy the ticket in cash. So he got there and all the spots were booked and the only remaining would cost ~500 or 600 euro from Stockholm -> Paris, and he would have to stay 1 night in Paris. He asked if I could meet him there and stay with him for a night and we'd come here together, but I had just moved into the apartment and was focused on helping my girlfriend unpack and taking care of my very young puppy. He said he hates to stay places he doesnt know and felt he would get lost, etc, etc. so he didnt come that night, said he would find a plane the next day. He came back to MSN superrr excited / happy saying he had won 10k euro at the casino in Stockholm, I told him to be smart and hold on to it and just come tomorrow and grab the train from Paris -> Montpellier, but he said he hates the train, and OMG it takes 4 hrs, etc., but I told him I wasnt gonna buy his plane ticket. After this it was already too late for him to get to Montpellier without taking a train, he had already bought his 170 euro ticket to Paris but slept through it and he didnt want to get stuck in Paris. He bought his ticket for Paris the next day again and said he would buy his paris->montpellier flight in cash when he got there.

 

 

 

On the 25th of Sept. he borrowed $216 to play a turbo tournament on FTP and played it on a friends name ( cban ) and won it, for $13,000. His total amount owed at this time was between $2500 and $4,000. He asked me to trade him $4,000 from FTP to Stars, and I told him OK, but only if he paid me back what he owed me, and he swore that he would, and that once he did I could just give him the value of the bank transfer in cash when he got to France or send it to him online. I did this transfer for him, and when I woke up the next morning he had busted all $13,000 in a single night, didn't have a cent left. Now I don't play much on Full Tilt, so I was looking to get a transfer back from FTP to Pokerstars, he said his friend 'Pettinho' was a high stakes player, and sent me his sharkscope stats and stuff and vouched for him and said he could do it, I was very hesitant, and wanted to do it in small $500 increments, but they were in a hurry going to the casino and on at an internet cafe, said pettinho had come on to do me a favor. Pettinho said something like "why would I want to scam robby, he's one of my best mates and we've known each other a long time". Eventually I sent the $2,000, and of course the transfer didnt come through on the other end... Pettinho had scammed me for $2,000, and Robert said Pettinho had played drunk with the money and lost it, and that he would pay it back to me cause he had vouched for him.

 

 

 

That left him one more night in Stockholm... and this time he didn't come back to MSN so happy, he had lost all 13k euro (10k he had won + 3k he had brought, or maybe he had only had 10k overall), but regardless, he lost it all. This left him being able to get to Paris but not Montpellier, and I was just fed up with it, and for SOME reason my gf came to me and asked me if I really trusted him, and that he actually WANTED to pay me back. I told her I really thought he did WANT to pay me back, and so she made him promise her he would repay her 320 euro she was spending to buy his ticket from Paris -> Montpellier, because her school was taking the money from her account to be paid in one week, and also we needed to take the dog to the vet and she like JUST had enough money to do those things, and that was before she sent the money. Transfers between european countries should only take 2-3 days they agreed on it.

 

 

 

 

 

Part II: France

So now he was on his way to France, and the total amount owed lay between $4000 to $6000 USD after what I had sent him while he while he was in stockholm. He arrived at the Montpellier airport sometime that Sunday night and wanted to immediately start playing, to play all of the Sunday majors, because of his bank transfer coming through to my girlfiend he had some wiggle room to work with, and everything was starting up pretty quickly, so on the 28th I sent him $216 on FTP and 4 transfers totalling $980 on stars, adding a little over $1,000 to his debt. He began playing mostly heads up SNG besides the tourneys, because that was what I played I guess and didn't have much sucess the first night, busting each transfer I gave him. Then again on the 29th I sent him 7 transfers totalling $1317 , and we played some 4 mans together, and had some decent sucess, but he was obsessed with playing the Super Monday $1,000 tournament, and so we would win some together and he would take shots on his own and bust it, again, all of this was $200 and $300 at a time. We also went out to the casino and played live one night, which he ended up owing me 300 euro for (250 euro for playing, and 50 euro for half of the cab fare there and back).

 

 

 

[ Let me just say that at this point of time, I understand many people are going to call me retarded, and clearly I hold a large amount of this fault for being so trusting, reading back on it there were 1,000,000 signs telling me not to trust this person, and to even let it get to the amount that it's at this point in the story was a HUGE mistake on my part, I dont know how I let myself be constantly pressured into this stuff when I was around him, but he a VERY good talker, and kept showing so many pieces of evidence that he had every intention to pay me, and had the money to do it, just not online ]

 

 

 

I told Robert I refused to send him anymore money until the bank transfer went through, and so we called his bank. His bank sounded really weird, and I thought it might be one of his friends, the speech did not sound at all like someone who was accustomed to speaking every day, it was similar to "I ... ahhh ... need to ... ahhh ... check the information on the transfer" just filled with alot of "ahh" and weird pauses. My girlfriend talked to him, and he had said there had been a technical issue with sending money outland from Sweeden, and Robert's account had had outland transfers blocked before, but they were open now and the money would be there 100% by the LATEST on Friday. She asked him for a phone number to reach him at, and the number he gave her was missing one digit and unusuable.

 

 

 

So during the few short days Robert was in France, I won about $8,000 playing HU and dint even realize that it was all dissapearing, I had been debating playing the 2k euro ($3,000) event in San Remo, and finally after selling 67% of myself I decided to go. We left one day before the money was supposed to be there (Thursday morning) and the event started on Friday. Our hotel didn't have internet so there was no possibility to play there so we went to the casino to meet some of my friends who had been playing in the 500 euro tournament that day (Alessio, Pier85, and Flower2). They were running SNGs and Robert wanted to play one, so we took 100 euro to blackjack, and he 'took half of me' and I said if we bring it up to 220 then we'll both play a 110 euro SNG. Sure enough we did and we both played the SNG and then went out with some friends. He won the SNG and now had 500 euro with him.

 

 

 

 

 

Part III: Italy

Friday I sent robert a few hundred and told him he HAD to send me back when he had won, and then I went to play the 2k euro Main Event. After about 6 hours he had run up like $2,000 on stars, and sent me back the money I had sent him that day, and also asked me to find someone to trade him money on stars for some real life cash. Alessio traded us for 220 euro and robert used it to play a SNG and some blackjack or something. Anyways my account was getting low, to about 10k and I said there was just no way I could do anymore, and he used his money a bit more cautiously for a short peiod of time. On Saturday, day 2 of the tournament, Robert scrounged some money from what he had, and begged me to loan him the last of it so he could play the 1k euro event that was happening that day, I was CL in this big event and he had transferred some more money to the bank and I watched him as he did it, so I just wanted to focus on my event, I gave him the extra money and went to play my event. I found out the bank transfer hadn't gone through, and I got REALLY upset and said I would not give him another cent ever until all debts were paid. He said he had no idea why the transfer didn't go through, and decided we should just go to stockholm and get the money out of the bank and he would give it to me in cash, so we booked our flights for Stockholm for Sunday. Also, as we left I had found out hokiegreg had sent him $1,000, and my name had been used for a vouch... I asked greg why he would give someone money who he knew owed me $ if I wasn't actually there to vouch for it, and he said 'Well I was really hesitant to send, until you sent me the email of course'. And it turns out I had left my email logged in while updating people on my tournament status and Robert had emailed greg from MY EMAIL to vouch for himself, and therefore esentially steal another 1k. I sent greg the $1,000 right away and made sure to NEVER leave my email, or any other account logged in around him, as he was becoming increasingly sketchy.

 

 

 

[ At this point I finally decided to check on all the number, I had kept records of everything I had ever sent him, and also of how much I made that month. I found out that I had my best month ever, +$17,488 ... and my account was LOWER than what it started with. This is when it really hit me, and it made me sick to my stomach, he owed me ~13k euro at this point and I was shocked, but I guess it finally made sense to me since I gave him almost 1k euro for that tournament and a ton of transfers totally about $1k each day... I felt dizzy, sick, and just prayed that when we went to stockholm we would get the money out of the bank and I would NEVER make the mistake of lending someone money again, especially not such a crazy amount. And the weird part is... even friends, like close friends and family I never really lended any more than $1500 to, but it was just because he was there and such a good talker and constantly pressuring me it had just gone by so fast and easily, without me really taking a second to take in what I was doing ]

 

 

 

 

 

Part IV: Sweeden:

While we were waiting at the train station we were playing blackjack on my iPhone (The 21 Pro Sponsored Application). We had played blackjack a decent amount with each other between the casinos in France and Italy. I knew he did things pretty unorthodoxly and I guess he thought I didn't play well. While playing on the phone I doubled an 11 v a dealers T... he asked me why I did that and I said "I HAVE to do that, its the right play". He wanted to make a bet on it and I figuered it would be something small... but no... not him, he wanted to be the buy in of the tournament (2000 euro). I told him I was 100% sure and that he was being stupid to take that bet, but he insisted I was wrong and there is no way that was a good play, I asked him a few times to back out and he said no, and sure enough we checked multiple sources that confirmed I was correct. I only took the bet because I have played ALOT of blackjack and no basic strategy to a science, but this whole thing scared me even more to see how little he cared about money, and he would have to be PRETTY RICH to not care about 2,000 euro, and now many dangerous thoughts of me never seeing my money began to enter my head, and once again, I felt sick and couldnt wait to get it over with so I could return home to my girlfriend and my puppy.

 

 

 

We go to the ticket counter in Milan and ordered our tickets for Stockholm, Robert had said he had looked them up last night but when we got there there was nothing but Economy Plus left and it cost us 496 euro (like 750 USD) each for a One Way ticket... this was pretty infuriating to me and my first bad experience of the trip. We arrived in Stockholm Sunday night, and robert had many plans for us. He had needed to call the bank by 18:00 to make sure the money would be there tomorrow and so after I reminded him a few times he did so. That night we stayed in a hotel about 2 blocks to the right of the casino, and I cannot remember the name but it was very nice, and about 200 euro. We dropped our bags and went the casino, I had about 700 euro on me (which I had changed to Kronor, so about 7,000 kronor), and I brought 4000 into the casino with me. When we went in Robert went straight to video poker which he said he won on every time by constantly doubling when he won until he was trying to win like 1k or 2k euro (the machine let you do a 'pick a card higher than the dealer' to double your money). He went through about 2k kronor pretty fast on that, and I just watched, and then we decided to go upstairs. We both had a losing night, and he had paid for the hotel so when he asked me how much I had left I ended up digging out my last 3k kronor (300 euro) and we both got 1500 and again... lost it.

 

 

 

After that we went back to the hotel and he still had some money left on stars and started playing a couple tournaments, and he gave me some money to go get us some burgers from MAX. I did so, and went to bed shortly after, and I guess he woke up without any money in his account but he had gotten a EPT Step 5 ticket (He had already won a seat to EPT Budapest ($8,000 package) on the money I had leant him earlier... we had intended to change it to W$ and him pay me back with it, but stars requires you to play in the first land based package you win, and would not under ANY circuimstances allow him to sell or trade or change or transfer the event). So I had expected to be leaving on Monday, I tried to wake him up pretty early but he was impossible and got really upset, but then someone called his cell phone and I was ready to get going and I picked it up and didnt answer but woke him up and said someone is on the phone. He looked briefly, got VERY upset and shut the phone and told me NEVER to pick up his phone. He said it was the cops and he had been ignoring them and I had just gotten him in ALOT of trouble. I asked why he was avoiding the cops and he said they wanted him for some Witness thing, and he left it at that. We ended up going to the bank around 2-3pm. We got to the bank and the money wasn't there. He called his internet bank and asked what the problem was, and apparently he hadn't specified a destination, so they had automatically send the money to his primary bank in Lulea. I was pretty furious, but he redid the transfer for Stockholm and said it should be there tomorrow. So we had another day in Stockholm. He got 25,000 kronor (2500 euro) out of the bank, and said he needed to save 20k to pay his friend Erik (Erras) and he was going to go to Goteborg after he got me the money the next day. We took the money to the casino and he immediately dropped into the 'erik fund' and went down to like 16k playing roulette and blackjack, he had no fear when betting, usually his minimum bets were 100-200 euro, if not more. He gave me 2k to play around with and I won a little, paid him back his 2k and kept 1100, which I lost when we returned to the casino later that night. We got a new hotel this time, right on the corner in the center of Stockholm again like 1-2 blocks away from the casino and very close to his favorite resteraunt 'Jensen's Bofhause'.

 

 

 

I went to bed and read a book and fell asleep while he played on 24h and some other network on my laptop like he had been every night, and I when I woke up I tried to get him up early to go to the bank so I could catch the 2:45 flight home he FREAKED out at me and wouldnt wake up. A bit later (he had left the laptop on all night) someone sent him a nudge on MSN, I went and shut off the sound on the computer and saw it was his friend Erik (Erras) who he had talked to like every night since I had been with him and said was one of his best friends. I said he was sleeping and I could wake him up, but Erik said no don't worry about it. I told him I had been trying to wake him up anyways so we could go to the bank, and he said "yea, that guy sleeps like a stone". But then as I was about to go, he paused and asked "Why are you going to the bank, do you owe him money or something". And I said 'No actually, he owes me money and we're going to square it up', he seemed distressed and asked for my MSN and I gave it to him and told him I was going to log out robert and log into my own. I then brought the laptop into the bed and had it tilted so robert couldnt see it if he woke up and looked over. I began talking to Erik and he hesitantly asked how much he owed me, and I when I told him it was 15k euro he was VERY upset. He asked me if it was ok to invite someone else to the conversation and I was very nervous at this point and he invited another friend, ArNaN. They then proceeded to tell me that Robert had done this many times before, although never for so much money, and that he was a well known scammer in the sweedish communities / forums. I told them I was supposed to be getting my money today and they said they hoped I did but they would bet their lives on it that I wouldn't. I felt like I was going to throw up and my fists burned with rage, it was all I could do to not come to violence right then. But Robert woke up and I quickly told them i had to go, logged out of MSN and deleted the conversation logs.

 

 

 

We went to the bank in Stockholm, and, of course, the money was not there. We went to the information desk and he spoke quickly in sweedish and he said even though his bank said it could be out that day, this bank said it would take til Friday. I stepped back up to the counter and asked her in English "so there is NO way to get the money before Friday" and she said "Sorry, no". It seemed weird though, he didn't mention any account numbers or references or anything, and since the question had been in Sweedish he could have asked how long WOULD it take, or any other thing, so I still had no guarentee the money would come. I told him we were staying in Stockholm til Friday so I could just get my money and go home, and he just simply stated that every day he didn't pay Erik there was 100% interest, so waiting til Friday would cost him 8,000 euro, and that the train was about to go and I could stay if I wanted to but he was going to Goteborg. I was not about to leave him and be stuck alone in Sweeden so of course I followed, he paid for our train tickets and bought me a lunch on the train, and used the laptop to be on the internet during the mean time. However during the train ride I guess ArNaN had posted in the sweedish forums a thread basically saying "Robert2c SCAMS ONCE AGAIN" and Robert FREAKED out when he saw it. It basically had a ton of details about our trip, including what happened at the casino last night, so it was pretty obvious I had talked to someone. He turned on me and asked me how this got out, etc., etc., and I told him Erik had messaged him this morning and asked me about the bank and I told him what had happened when he asked. He got VERY mad that I would talk about this to someone else and starting fighting online with Erik and arNaN. He told me how he was afraid of what would happen when we got to goteborg now, and that he had called 4 of his 'people' to meet us there incase anything happened. He looked up ArNaN's name and address on some internet page and said he was contacting someone to put a 'price on his head' if he didn't take the thread down. He also told me how he knew many contacts within the Hell's Angels and one other Gang in sweeden and talked about stories of stuff they had done, and also later mentioned how someone had owed someone he knew $20,000 , and the person sold the debt to the hell's angels, and they went and when the guy couldn't pay they cut off two of his fingers, one for each $10,000. He began talking about alot of these stories, and the thread was taken down, but of course, when we arrived in Goteborg, there was nobody there to meet us, none of his 'people' and he didnt meet Erik to give him the money he had said was soo urgent.

 

 

 

The first night in Goteborg we stayed in a very small, pretty bad hotel called Hotel Robinson. We went to the casino and Robert gave me 3k to play poker with, and we sat down to play. I played 20/20 Dealers Choice (which the only game chosen was PLO) and ran it up to 9k or so pretty fast. I paid Robert back his 3k and sat at the 50/50 NL HE with him. He was about break even and I made a pretty awful bluff early on to get stacked vs a guy who had top set of Aces. So Robert told me to wait for one rotation at the table until he woudl have to pay the BB, and then we would leave. We left, but he didnt make it past the blackjack and Roulette tables, and he quickly ran the remainder of his money up to 50 or 60k Kronor, and then at the end lost it back down to 40. I got him to leave and he told me how much he could of used that money and how stupid it had been and told me to make him stop next time. We went back to the hotel and Robert played his step 6 seat (he won a step 6 with his step 5 while I was sleeping the night before). I watched most of it, he always mentioned knowing all of the great sweedish players like Mendieta19, Telefonkiosk, etc., and Mendieta was at his table but they didnt really talk. Robert bubbled the second EPT package right at the very end and got $1,000 or so and started to play with it while I went to bed. I woke up in the morning really early and decided since Robert slept forever I was going to play some poker for once. I tried to log into my pokerstars account... and my password DIDNT WORK. I started to get really nervous and uncomfortable and checked my email, and there was one email in there saying the Email Account on my pokerstars account had been changed, and they wanted to make sure it wasn't a Mistake. I went NUTS, I emailed stars and told them to lock down my account, told them the email change was a mistake, and requested to know the balance in my account, etc. I sent about 7 emails in 10 minutes, and was just constantly clicking refresh to wait for a response but all I got was the standard 'its been forwarded to the correct / security department'. Robert woke up and I told him what happened and that we wern't leaving the hotel until all of this was figured out, and I meant it too. But he said it was checkout time and this hotel blows so let's check into another one and we'll stay there til Stars gets back to us. I also had talked to Erik on MSN when I woke up and saw what had happened and he had been coming to meet us at Hotel Robinson. He also had told me to call the police instantly, but I just couldnt do it, and I didnt know what evidence I could present them or what is held as legal here. Robert said because of what had happened before on the train he did NOT want Erik to come and he was leaving if he came.

 

 

 

So obviosuly it was my first suspicion that Robert had been the one to take the money, but who knows and I was waiting for a response from stars. That said, I didnt go further than 1 foot from his side until we got to the new hotel, and I made sure he wasn't going anywhere. When we got to the new hotel Robert was looking over his shoulder every 2 seconds and basically RAN to the room, he genuinely looked very nervous and scared. Erik was calling his phone constantly and he was simply ignoring it, and he said he was going to take a shower and not to answer if Erik called or he was leaving cause he wasn't going to be around him. I checked my email when I got there and stars said they had tried to call my contact number and it didn't work. I told them I was abroad and gave them my french cellphone and asked them to call back. While Robert was in the shower Erik sent me an SMS saying "Tell him I come in peace'. I told robert what he said when he got out of the shower and he said "Oh man, you talked to him didnt you, you told him where we are???" "Im leaving!!". I got really mad and yelled a bit and told him not to be an idiot and that I hadn't, but during that time Stars called and I told him to hold on a minute and stepped out into the hall. During my discussion with stars, they told me that all of the money $9,000 was gone from my account, and that the requests, login, and money coming out of my account had all come FROM MY PRIMARY COMPTUER (My Laptop). I told them about Robert staying with me, and I guess he had lost the last of his money from the step 6 at about 3:54am and less than 15 minutes later my account was logged into from that same computer he had played on, and all of my money transferred out. To where?? None other, than his friend, Pettinho's account.

 

 

 

I walked back into the room completely unsure of what to do, this entire time of having him have bascially all of my money there was still the hope in me, that no matter WHAT happens I would still have that $9,000 - $10,000 to rebuild with. I walked in and was basically screaming "HOW COULD YOU DO THAT", etc., and told him what stars had said, and his only argument was basically "I didn't do it", I told him about the IP and stuff and he said stars was lying, cause he DID NOT login to my account or send that money and it wasn't him. And once again he told me he was leaving and began packing his stuff. I packed mine up and would leave his side, even though he asked "why are you following me, why would I want you here when your yelling and dont believe me? I HATE it when people yell". It was all I could do from not coming to extreme violence, but I knew if that happened I would never see any of my money back, and also I was a foreigner in this country and staying with my girlfriend in France and didn't know what would happen if I got arrested for fighting or something like that. We walked around for a while and eventually went back to the hotel. Somehow he made ammends with Erik and we all went to the casino that night. We played a tournament which Robert bought us into for 220 euro (2200 Kronor) and Erik had a female friend there with him. Before the tournament Robert ran his 40k (approx) up to 80k, and then abck down again to 60k (6,000 euro), Erik's friend was shocked and said Robert had absolutely no respect for money (he had a strategy of betting on the middle and high sections of the roulette wheel and bet up to 900 euro (9,000 kronor on each one in a single spin at times). I was just praying somehow he got unbelievably lucky and ran it up to 150,000 kronor and I could just take it and leave. I busted the tournament on like the 3rd hand when my AQ got rivered by a flush on a 2 T Q Q x board. I told Robert I was gonna go back to the hotel and use the internet, and he met me at the door and told me to stay and mess around and gave me 2k kronor to play around with. I did and it lasted me like 2.5 hrs,he met me after he had busted and began playing as well, and we went back to the hotel.

 

When we got back to the hotel I went on the computer and he sorted out all the money and made me take pictures of him, he spread the money on the bed and lay down behind it, and held it up like a 'baller' and took the pictures and put them on his picture blog and then decided he was going to go back to the casino cause Erik and his friend were still there. I stayed on the computer and contemplated my problem and was trying to find out if there were any legal solutions to it, and it happened that there were some as I have him on doing quite a few illegal things, not to mention the pokerstars account, etc. The list that I made up in my head would be something like: Theft, Computer/Identity Theft, Impersonating a person in authority (The Bank Teller on the phone who im sure was a friend of Robert's and not a legit bank person looking back on it), as well as potential Fraud/Blackmail counts? I know some of it seems extreme but this is what I had come up with while mulling it over in my head. While Robert was at the casino I had talked to a very good friend of mine and told him I felt I probably had a 5-10% chance to get my 22,500 USD back, he said well thats only 2,250 in equity at BEST, so if I was smart, I would take the 6,000 euro ($9,000) right then and go back home and chalk it up as a learning experience. I decided I totally agreed with him, and sent Robert an SMS at the casino (how is it going there)... response: "bad, very bad, down to 18k", and then about 20 minutes later "1k left... im coming back to the hotel". Obviously... I had missed my chance. We went to bed and Robert had gotten some money on noIQ poker, and he asked me if I wanted to play HU with him and try to run it up to 10k. I said sure, but he wanted occassional advice and didnt want to let me actually played any games at all, so I eventually just went to bed.

When I woke up in the morning I didn't ask about how it had gone or not, but when I went to check my email I was a screenshot on the desktop, 20k pott it was called, I opened it up and sure enough, it was Robert playing 50/100 and losing a 20k pot with a weak 2 pair, so I guess he HAD run it up to 10k, and instead of paying me back anything, he ran right to the HIGHEST stakes tables he could find and blew all of it, in one hand. I never mentioned this to him, or even the knowledge of it, and he never said a word to me. We left the next day (Thursday) for Helsingol, basically against my will, but as every other time he said he was going with or without me, he paid the train tickets and we went, we were going to fly back to Stockholm on Friday. On the way there we were going to meet his friend Karim, and he told me not to mention ANYTHING about his debt to Karim and also that he was going to lie to Karim about how much he had lost because Karim wanted to borrow money from him and he didn't want to loan him any. We got to Goteborg and Karim was teaching some people how to mix drinks (he is a bartender) and we had to wait about 30 minutes to get the key. I found out then when he came out to give it to us Robert had told him he had lost 400k Kronor (40,000 euro!!!!) at Roulette in Goteborg, now im an overly honest person, as well as obviously overly trusting, and this string of lies made me really uncomfortable. We ate at MAX Burger and went and stayed at Karim's place. Karim was a really funny guy with a cool brittish accent when he speaks english. He seemed very laid back, and we all just hung out. Robert looked up flights with me and said he would fix it to have someone buy them with a visa for us... but it didn't happen, so he said he would get his dad to 'fix it' in the morning. I stayed up all night trying to get the tickets to stockholm worked out, and I tried both of my credit cards and my parents tried there and it seems http://www.sas.se wont accept cards from the USA. I woke him up at 7am to go the the airport for the 9:30 flight and he refused to get up, I got REALLY irritated and told him so but he said there is a 12:45 flight we can catch. so this time I FORCED him to get out of bed, and we went at about 10:30 or 11 to go buy the tickets for this flight. He said he didn't need his bag cause he was coming back to Helsingol today. I had used a number on his phone he gave me to call and reserve the 2 plane tickets and we just had to pay when we get there, but when we got to the taxis... he refused to go. He began making a ton of excuses, and said because of the post on the forums about him scamming me there were people who were WAITING for him in Stockholm and he wasn't going to go, he absolutely would not get in the cab, even though I told him we could just take the flight, take a cab right from the airport to the bank, and back and then both leave, he would not budge... and this... far too late, was the last straw for me.

 

 

 

I begged Robert to go with me, offered to pay his flight back to Helsingol, the cab fare, everything he just had to go for a few hours. He still refused. He trivialized his debt to me saying that he had lost 500k Kronor (50,000 euro) because of stocks and a bad run at poker over the last 2-3 months, and I responded that I hadn't LOST anything, I had simply trusted him after he swore to me on his life and his family that he would pay me back. We walked back to Karim's and I was desperate, I dialed the number for the Sweedish police (112) twice but never could bring myself to hit the send button. He asked me to wait outside while he talked to Karim for a minute, so while he went upstairs I decided my last resort was to call his father and hope that he could talk some reason into his Son. I called his father and we talked and he seemed very shocked at what Robert had done, and asked me to wait while he called his son. I was honest and told Robert I had called his dad, and he locked me out of Karim's apartment (who eventually let me back in) and refused to pick up his fathers phone calls, simply letting it ring. Finally, Karim went to shower and Robert confronted me basically threatening to never give me my money and Karim heard us arguing and later sent me an SMS to ask about the situation (I found out that Robert also owed him 4,000 euro and has owed him for 12 months). Eventually Robert picked up his fathers call, and told me that his father had "laughed at him and told and he wouldnt even help him with 1 single Kronor" , but I talked to his father a few days later and I guess Robert had said that he had paid me some of my debt... which was not true. So in the time I was in sweeden not only did I have my debts unpaid, a good friend betray me, AND all of my remaining money stolen from my account, I got caught up in a web of lies and had to beg my parents to help fly me back. My girlfriend was also almost kicked out of her University because she couldn't pay when the payment was due because of the money she had given Robert (not alot but it was all she could do) and she had spent the last 5 days on the phone with me crying and crying each conversation. Not only did I learn that everyone who I had come into contact with that Robert knew (excluding ArNaN he owed money, me of course being the highest amount and I had been treated much worse compared to his other 2 friends Erik and Karim), but I also had my life torn apartment financially, and emotionally and my girlfriend was packing up and ready to move back with her parents, the stress with the money and her school had been too much. It was then I decided even all the money in the world wasn't worth what I was putting her through, and I called and had to have my parents buy me a flight back to Paris (Copenhagen -> Paris) and a train to Montpellier.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The end results were Robert owed me $22,500 that was not paid and he refused to help me with and never even gave me a single dollar

 

and $9,000 was stolen from me

 

both amounts are in USD, also, from what was Stolen, Pettinho was stupid enough to try to cash out $4,000 of it, and this has been recovered to me, so the amount stolen I guess was lowered to $5,000, but I don't know what I would have done if this had not been returned to me.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Part V: The Aftermath

After the investigation from Pokerstars, stars has ruled that robert was the one responsible for breaking into my account and stealing the money, and they are threatening to take away the EPT seat that he won (with my money). Jag kan säga att jag hoppas att han blir fångad och får någon honom fixad. Han hotade mig med " Hells angels " och bla bla . Något som jag inte alls är rädd för och jag ville få tag på honom och bad honom ge mig hans nr då jag ville komma till Göteborg samma dag som dom skulle dit. Men han vågade inte ge ut det och sa vi kan träffas i Sthlm veckan efter då bad jag honom ge mig hans nr så jag ringa honom o få reda på var vi ska mötas och det vågade han inte heller. Sen så började han efter några dagar fjäska för mig och han började tro att vi är bästa vänner något som jag aldrig velat vara eller vill vara utan är dock mest ute efter han. Jag har flera gånger velat åka till GBG och ta dom 60k han hade på sig då men erik och bryan sa till mig att det inte är så smart då bryan inte tjänar något på det. Så jag gjorde det inte.

Vilken jävla sörja. Visar ju verkligen på pokerns baksida alltså, hur illa det kan bli om fel sorts människor kommer i kontakt med den.

 

 

Bryan verkar vara en alldeles alldeles för snäll och godtrogen människa för sitt eget bästa. Personligen hade jag inte lånat ut en dollar till efter att det första lånet inte betalades tillbaka. Sedan hade jag definitivt tagit alla dessa "Ta 2k o spela för" och stoppat i fickan istället, och räknat bort de från skulden, men men, inte mkt att göra åt nu.
