Poker has obviously boomed the last few years, but 2007 wsop Main event had a decrease in entrants and with the laws in USA concerning onlinepoker you can see a decline in poker interest.

to my question.

How important is a potential new market, being Asia, for the future of onlinepoker and international live-tournaments? Or do you see other ways to get poker to grow even more?

PGA Tour style Poker league

Daniel,

What do you think of the idea of a poker league with a setup similar to the PGA Tour in golf?

I.e. a more limited field of poker pros. Say round 200 entries per event with only a very limited number of amateurs and on-line qualifiers; like 10 out of 200 seats and not the thousands in the WSOP events. Maybe 20-25 events a year and ranking that would show us the best players for the season. This ranking would to some extent even out the normal up and downs in single events due to luck and bad beats…

Other sponsors than just poker sites, (cars, clothes or whatever), might be interested if this get a good TV coverage. They could sponsor the prize pool and individual players also.

What do you think of the idea?

What do you think the other poker pros would think?

Kurtan
